Your Healthy, Beautiful Smile is Our Priority

The vision of a dental practice starts at the top. Leading by example, Dr. Bryan Stein has made (and continues to make) a serious commitment to two key facets of patient care in his office: continuing education and technology. For all of the office’s dental services, the team has at their disposal the latest technologies, and the most up-to-date information. Both of these components have a direct and positive impact on the cosmetic dentistry care we can offer to our patients.

Brighten and Whiten Your Smile, and more

Procedures that fall under the category of “cosmetic” can boost your confidence by giving you whiter teeth, filling in spaces, gaps or cracks or even reshaping your teeth. One of the most important contributions of new technology in this field is in making a beautiful smile both easy and affordable to achieve.

Here are some of the treatments we can offer you:

Veneers

A dental veneer is a porcelain overlay that is custom fit and bonded to each tooth. The process can be used to straighten the appearance of crooked teeth, repair chipped teeth, cover teeth that are badly discoloured, or disguise misshapen teeth. It is a practically painless process that can be completed in as little as 2 office visits and gives the patient a perfect smile.

One-Visit Crowns

The main use of a crown is to cover (usually) a single tooth that is cracked, contains a large filling or is otherwise damaged. The crown not only improves the appearance of the tooth, but also provides extra protection. Porcelain is the most popular material because it looks so natural, blending perfectly with the other teeth.

In the case of crowns, the benefit of the latest technology is that it permits us to take an impression of the subject tooth and mill a new crown in a matter of minutes – no longer do we wait days for a new crown, and require patients to make multiple visits!

Bridges

If your smile is not as bright as it once was because of missing teeth, a dental bridge may be the best solution. A bridge is a set of replacement teeth that is held in place by the neighbouring healthy teeth.

It greatly enhances a smile, while also ensuring that the healthy teeth do not drift out of place over time. Once anchored, the bridge remains in place and is cared for in the same way as your natural teeth, with proper brushing & flossing, and regular dental checkups.

Teeth Whitening

Sometimes all it takes to make you want to show off your smile is brighter teeth. One of the easiest and fastest ways to enhance your appearance, teeth whitening can be accomplished by a variety of methods, whether in our office with laser technology or in the comfort of your home with an at-home custom kit. Whichever means you choose, you can enjoy the long-lasting effects at a very reasonable cost.

Gum Contouring

If your gums rest too low or too high on your teeth and you are unhappy with your smile, you may be a candidate for gum contouring surgery. Also called gum reshaping or tissue sculpting, this cosmetic dental procedure can even out an uneven gum line and give you a smile you can be proud of.

Why is cosmetic dentistry so popular these days? Because a perfect smile makes us feel great about ourselves, and gives us a reason to share our smile with the world. Contact us today to learn more.

Frequently Asked Questions

You have a question? We have an answer.

  • Why is it important that I visit my dentist every 6 months?
We recommend that patients visit our office at least twice each year to ensure their optimal oral health and to help avoid serious and costly future problems. In addition to cleaning and polishing all the visible and hidden surfaces of your teeth, we also check for many potential problems. Tooth decay, oral cancer and periodontal (gum) disease are just a few examples of problems that can have serious consequences if left undetected. In certain cases, we may even recommend 3 or 4 visits per year in order to properly treat conditions that require more regular attention. Maintaining a regular appointment schedule with your dentist isn’t just good for your teeth, it’s an important part of your overall health.
  • Why do my gums bleed when I brush my teeth?
Bleeding during brushing and flossing is often the first sign of periodontal (gum) disease. This means that your gums have become inflamed or infected as a result of plaque and tartar buildup along and below the gum lines. This condition can become very serious if left untreated and can eventually lead to receding gums and tooth loss. The best treatment for this condition is a visit to your dentist for a thorough check-up and cleaning, followed by a complete regimen of brushing and flossing. With prompt and thorough treatment, the condition if caught early can normally be corrected. Please feel free to call our office if you have noticed bleeding during tooth brushing, or if you would like direction on proper home care techniques.
  • How can I help myself to prevent bad breath?
According to recent studies, almost half the population of adults in North America suffers at least occasionally from bad breath (halitosis). The most common cause of bad breath is bacteria in the mouth and on the back of the tongue. These bacteria produce a volatile sulfur compound, which in turn produces a smell similar to “rotten eggs”. (Other non-dental causes of halitosis include certain foods, smoking, alcohol, hormonal changes or simply being hungry.) If the halitosis is of oral origin, the treatment usually begins with ensuring meticulous hygiene of the mouth. Your dentist or dental hygienist will check for gum disease and, if necessary, prepare a detailed treatment plan. Tongue scraping should also become an important part of daily home care and part of your regular tooth brushing routine. (it’s easy and painless).
  • How is a mouth guard from my dentist different from one I buy at a sporting goods store?
High-speed collisions that occur during the play of sports like hockey, football, soccer and basketball can cause serious tooth damage. A professionally fitted mouth-guard is the best defense for any athlete against this. The mouth guards provided in our office are custom-made to perfectly fit the wearer’s teeth which can result in a more comfortable and secure fit. In addition, we use a heavier mouth guard material selected based upon each patient’s individual needs. The boil and bite mouth-guards that you purchase in retail stores simply can not provide the same level of protection. So what is “Cosmetic Dentistry”, and what types of treatments does it involve?
  • Can I replace an old crown that looks unnatural?
Many of our patients have asked us about replacing very old crowns that have deteriorated or crowns that do not blend well with their natural teeth. One of our skilled dentists will ensure that the colour and shade is matched and the crown is shaped precisely for a very natural, indistinguishable appearance
